What are DNAs?
We’re all human and we understand that patients can sometimes forget about an appointment until after the event. Most patients are apologetic upon noticing they have forgotten their appointment, they rebook and it doesn’t occur again. However, there are a few patients that will frequently DNA, leaving other patients waiting longer to see our clinical team which is an impact we wish to reduce.
When it comes to DNAs, our goal is to:
- Help to reduce the number of DNAs
- Find solutions to the common reasons why people DNA.
- Help people who frequently DNA to find solutions
- Free up wasted appointments which are lost by people who DNA
- Encourage people to keep the surgery informed of attendance issues
- Encourage people to cancel appointments if they cannot attend
- Make allowances for those patients who DNA due to health reasons
How we help patients remember
We have an automated reminder service that will sent SMS (text) notifications to the mobile phone we have registered on our system. This also allows you to cancel your appointment if you no longer require it. You can also check your future appointments by using our 24/7 automated appointments system by pressing option 1 when you call.
If there is anything we can do to assist you in remembering appointments, please get in touch and we’ll try our best to help you in any way we can.
